Cusco – Choquequirao
Cusco 06:00 am
Pick up from the hotel at 06:00 am to go on the transport for 2 hours to Curahuasi (breakfast place). We will continue the journey in mobility to the district of San Pedro de Cachora (Apurímac Region). It is here that we begin our walk to the Capuliyoc viewpoint. After that we will begin to descend for 3 hours and 20 minutes to Chikisca (1930 masl), place of overnight stay (rest hotels) and in the evening our dinner.
We will have breakfast at 06:00 am and then descend for 1 hour to Playa Rosalinas (Apurímac River, bordering point between the Department of Apurimac and Cusco). Then we will ascend for a period of 1 hour and 40 minutes to Santa Rosa where we will rest for a few minutes for laer continue for 2 hours to reach the town of Marampata where we will have lunch and rest in rustic lodgings. In the afternoon you can rest and enjoy the landscape and the sunset.
This day we will get up at 06:30 am to have breakfast at 07:00 am. While you take advantage of breakfast we will be preparing the lunch box to be able to take it us to the Archaeological Center.
It should be noted that this day is and will be the most important of the entire adventure. During the 1 hour and 40 minutes walking journey you will be able to appreciate some places such as terraces or platforms, as well as biodiversity (flora and fauna) with a humid climate.
Once you arrive at the Choquequirao Archaeological Park, you will visit the places belonging to the center (greater square, ceremonial temple, qolcas, llamas sector, and others) all under a theoretical explanation provided by the guide.
Lunch will be held at 01:00 pm in the Plaza Mayor of Choquequirao and part of the afternoon we will know more about the place. And then we will return to Marampata (place of the camp).
This last day we will get up early (05:00 am) in order to have breakfast at 05:30 am, in order to take advantage of the mild climate and avoid the heat. We will begin to descend about 2½ hours to the Apurimac River (Playa Rosalinas).
From there the climb begins 1 hour to Chikisca where we will have lunch. After it, we will continue ascending 3 more hours to Capuliyoc (place where you can visualize the entire journey made to the Choquequirao Archaeological Park), culminating with the walk satisfactorily.
Mobility will wait for us in Capuliyoc to continue the trip to the Imperial City of Cusco for around 4 hours.
